Everybody needs a Friend – especially when you are a thousand years old.

The Friends of Widford Church (FOWC) have, over the years, contributed many thousands of pounds to the total cost of carrying out urgent and essential repairs to the fabric of the ancient church building.

New laws also require the church authorities to make improvements of a modest nature; for example, the building should be fully accessible to people with disabilities. The Friends of Widford Church is a Registered Charity, and donations are sought from those who wish to benefit this Grade II* Listed building, whether their interest is religious or secular.

 

Widford has approximately five hundred inhabitants on whom the onus of maintaining this ancient church rests heavily. FOWC raise funds and seek donations to assist with this task.

 

If you would like to join FOWC we ask you to make an annual contribution, with an Individual Membership fee at £12 and Family Membership at £20. FOWC welcome any additional donations from members and Life Members. We strongly encourage payment by Standing Order, and request that eligible UK tax-payers also Gift-Aid their donation.

 

The membership year from 2021 will run from January 1st to December 31st (subject to confirmation at AGM). The ‘Friends’ will be entered into our £100 Membership Draw at our Annual General Meeting and are entitled to vote on committee membership and policy matters.
